JASUDAVICIUS: BLANCHFIELD WILL WRESTLE "ONCE SHE FEELS THESE HANDS"
“My hand will be raised at the end of the night.”
Jasmine Jasudavicius says a home-soil upset of Erin Blanchfield at UFC Edmonton will put her in the flyweight title talks.
"Once she feels these hands, she will be shooting a little bit more."
Jasmine Jasudavicius said that on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com. She faces Erin Blanchfield in the co-main event at UFC Edmonton on Saturday.
The Canadian is a clear underdog. FanDuel lists her at +255, with Blanchfield at -350. She does not care about the number.
A Fight Two Months Late
This fight was first set for UFC 330 in August. A Blanchfield injury pushed it back, and it landed on UFC Fight Night 291 instead.
The new date is Oct. 17 at Rogers Place in Edmonton. For Jasudavicius, the delay hurt at first, then helped.
She had finished a full camp when she heard the news. Now she gets the same fight, at home, in Canada.
The Stakes At Flyweight
Blanchfield (14-2) is on a two-fight win streak. She beat Rose Namajunas by decision, then submitted Tracy Cortez.
Jasudavicius (15-4) bounced back from a loss to Manon Fiorot with a decision win over Karine Silva in April. Before the Fiorot loss, she had won five straight.
The winner moves close to champion Natalia Silva. For Jasudavicius, that is personal. Silva gave her a loss she still wants back, this time with the belt on the line.
"My hand will be raised at the end of the night."

The Plan Is Pressure
Jasudavicius believes she is better on the feet. She expects Blanchfield to stand early, then shoot once the punches land.
Her job is to make that wrestling fail. If she stuffs the shots and keeps scoring, the upset is live.
A home underdog talking like the moment is hers to take.
Can Jasudavicius turn home soil into a title shot, or will Blanchfield's wrestling shut the door?
