MVP Signs With KSI's MISFITS BOXING After UFC EXIT
“I'm coming to show the boxing world what I can do.”
Michael "Venom" Page inked a multi-fight, multi-year deal with Misfits Boxing after the UFC declined to renew his contract.
"I'm coming to show the boxing world what I can do."
Michael "Venom" Page has a new home. The former UFC and Bellator star signed a multi-fight, multi-year deal with Misfits Boxing, announced by KSI himself at the promotion's London event on Saturday.
The move ends one of the year's strangest free agencies. Page went 5-1 in the UFC, yet the promotion declined to renew his contract after his September win over Nursulton Ruziboev in Paris.
The Announcement
KSI stepped into the ring to welcome his fellow Brit. "Michael Venom Page is one of the biggest names in combat sports, and everyone wanted him," KSI said. "For him to choose Misfits says everything about where we are as a promotion. He's a superstar, he's explosive, and fans are going to love watching him in the ring with us."
Misfits CEO Mams Taylor added: "MVP is special. He's a once in a lifetime fighter... Big things ahead is an understatement."
The Fit
Page is 26-3 in MMA and 2-0 as a professional boxer, though he has not boxed since 2018. The showman's handspeed and unorthodox striking made him must-watch TV in Bellator and the UFC.
No debut date or opponent has been announced.
The Message
"I've been in combat sports for a long time, and I've had plenty of options, but MF Sports is the right fit for me," Page said in the announcement. "They're doing things differently, the energy is huge, and the fights are big."
The UFC let a 5-1 showman walk. Now boxing's loudest stage gets him. Who should be first in line?
