Alexa Grasso did not just beat Manon Fiorot at Noche UFC on Saturday night in Glendale, Arizona. She announced, loudly, that she is coming for the throne she once owned.
“"You guys know me, I don't talk too much. I work hard, and when it's coming, it's coming. And I will get that belt back one day."”
The former women's flyweight champion outpointed Fiorot 29-28 on all three cards at Desert Diamond Arena, scoring a clean knockdown with a right hook late in round one that ultimately decided the fight. With the flyweight belt sitting vacant — and a new champion set to be crowned when Natalia Silva meets Wang Cong at UFC 332 on October 3 — Grasso has put herself first in line for a title shot.
"You guys know me, I don't talk too much," Grasso said in her post-fight interview. "I work hard, and when it's coming, it's coming. And I will get that belt back one day."
THE KNOCKDOWN THAT DECIDED IT
Grasso came out of the gate on fire, aggressively pushing forward on Fiorot with boxing combinations and stinging the French contender early. Just as Fiorot started to gain some respect back, Grasso landed the right hook with less than 40 seconds remaining in the opening frame — sending Fiorot to the canvas and taking top position as the round closed.
The stats from the first round confirmed Grasso's dominance: she connected on nearly 50 percent of her significant strikes, and the knockdown stamped the frame as hers, beyond argument.
Fiorot settled into the fight in the second round, landing good kicks and punches, and even opened a cut on Grasso's right eyebrow. But every time the Frenchwoman built momentum, Grasso answered with charging flurries that sent the partisan, heavily Mexican crowd into elation.
Fiorot's corner told her she was down two rounds going into the third. She showed desperation early, launching kicks, but Grasso kept her defense sharp and pushed forward with her boxing. Fiorot landed some heavy shots in the final moments, but never found the damage that could have swayed the judges. Final tallies: 29-28, 29-28, 29-28 — Grasso, across the board.
"BOXING IS MY SIGNATURE"
The performance was a showcase for the style Grasso has built her career on. "Boxing is my signature," she said. "We always try to represent our Mexican culture in the boxing style. And that's what I did."
The win was Grasso's second of 2026 — she opened the year with a highlight-reel knockout of Maycee Barber in March — after a three-fight winless skid that included the end of her stint as champion. It made her just the second fighter to beat Fiorot in UFC competition, alongside Valentina Shevchenko, and improved her record to 18-5-1. Fiorot, who entered as the division's No. 2-ranked contender, fell to 13-3.
A DIVISION THAT JUST GOT FUN AGAIN
The stakes were enormous. The UFC broadcast confirmed the bout as an official women's flyweight title eliminator, and the belt remains vacant after Shevchenko relinquished it due to injury. Grasso will now be waiting — quietly, as is her way — on the winner of Silva vs. Wang Cong.
Not everyone agreed with the decision. Fiorot entered as the betting favorite, and the unanimous scorecards prompted loud criticism from her supporters and a wave of debate on social media, with plenty of fans calling it a robbery. But the first-round knockdown is the kind of round that decides fights, and two rounds to one is the kind of margin that decides eliminators.
Two straight wins in 2026, back in the title picture, and a belt vacancy on the horizon — the flyweight division just got fun again.
